Music on the Mezzanine  Orchestra ensembles of the Austin Youth Orchestra (AYO) perform prior to select Classical concerts of the Austin Symphony. These concerts take place on the mezzanine level of Bass Concert Hall beginning at 7:00 pm. The five orchestras of the AYO that participate are:
Symphony - Grades 9-12 Philharmonic - Grades 6-10 Sinfonietta - Grades 1-8 Intermezzo - Kindergarten-Grade 7 Concertante - Kindergarten-Grade 6 AYO membership is open to all interested orchestra students, Austin ISD and non-Austin ISD, and determined by an audition process.
