Arbor Series

(l-r:)Guest artist Joshua Bell with table sponsor Jonn Cherico and Maestro Peter Bay

The 2008-2009 season of the Austin Symphony marks the 22nd year of the Arbor Series, an auxiliary group which has an education component, while also helping to provie financial support for the ASO. The Symphony Arbor Series allows members to meet and visit with Maestro Peter Bay and guest artist(s) prior to the upcoming performance. Members will learn about the composer and the music, and are able to ask questions in an intimate setting. This is a warm, inviting experience designed to educate and entertain.

Arbor Series luncheons are held on Thursdays prior to concert weekends. Seating begins at 11:45am. Programs begin promptly at 12 noon and are over by 1:30pm. Lunch is $40 per person per event (Parking costs additional).

New members are welcome and membership is open to both men and women. Arbor Series annual dues are $140 per person. Members of the Arbor Series must hold season tickets to the Austin Symphony and have made a minimum donation of $350 to the ASO Annual Fund Campaign. Please contact the Symphony office at 476-6064 to make these arrangements.

Members may bid to host Maestro Bay and the guest artist at a silent auction held at the opening luncheons. This has been very popular with our guest artists, who are flattered that members will pay for the opportunity to host them. The Austin Symphony has a warm reputation with the many performers who have appeared with the ASO and this personal touch is a big part of the reason.

Luncheon schedule for the 2008-2009 season to be announced soon
