"At Long last! After many years of dreaming and planning, the ASO now has the magnificent Long Center for the Performing Arts as its new, acoustically superb home. For this season-long celebration we have invited some of the world's most beloved soloists to share the stage, and two of the most renowned American composers, Christopher Theofanidis (who was commissioned by the Austin Symphony) and Austin's own Dan Welcher, to contribute world premieres.
"Some of the greatest masterpieces of the orchestral literature will be recreated on the stage of the beautiful Michael & Susan Dell Hall, along with commemorations of the 90th birthday of Leonard Bernstein and the centennials of Elliott Carter and Olivier Messiaen.
"We invite you to join in what will be one of the most memorable seasons in the history of the arts in Austin!"
