Spend this Indepedence Day with 100,000 of your closest friends! Central Texans will hurry to claim their grassy spot with the Austin Symphony Orchestra this July 4th for the largest Independece Day celebration in the state. Tens of thousands of families will be decked out in red, white and blue in the northest corner of Zilker Park this July 4th for an amazing event complete with a fireworks display over the city skyline backed by symphonic patriotic classics. The ASO will perform at 8:30pm, followed by mile-high fireworks at approximately 9:30pm. The spectacular H-E-B Austin Symphony July 4th Concert & Fireworks is planned, produced and performed by the Austin Symphony, as well as the help of our generous sponsors. The event is free and open to the public.

The 1900 block of Barton Springs Road and the 2200 block of Stanford will be closed beginning at 3:00 pm, reopening at 10:00pm. The 500 block of Atlanta Street and the 2200 block of Veterans Drive will be closed from noon until 11:00pm. The hike and bike trail will be closed between Lamar and MoPac. Town Lake will be closed to all watercraft from 6:00pm until11:00pm.

For those in need of transportation, free July 4th shuttles will run 4-11pm from Waterloo Park near E. 15th & Trinity, to the MoPac footbridge over Town Lake at Stephen F. Austin Blvd. Free parking will be available in State Parking Garages A, B, F, & G, as well as Lots 12, 18, & 22. Concertgoers will cross the footbridge and walk through Zilker Park to the concert site.

Media sponsors Time Warner Cable/News 8 Austin and KVET-FM 98.1 will be on site for concert day information, complete with updates about weather, shuttles and parking availability. Additionally, News 8 Austin will simulcast the fireworks in their entirety starting at 9:30pm. Also, KVET-FM 98.1 will be broadcasting live from "The Front Porch" at Zilker Park beginning at 3:00pm through the concert. Austinites not able to attend in person that evening can experience the beautiful patriotic music beyond the speakers in Zilker Park by tuning in to KVET-FM 98.1.
