AUSTIN SYMPHONY ANNOUNCES NEW ORCHESTRA MEMBERS

The Austin Symphony Orchestra is proud to announce changes in orchestra membership following auditions August 25-28, 2005.

After a yearlong search, Jessica Mathaes has been named Concertmaster, succeeding Vincent Frittelli, who retired in August of 2004. Former Flute II Chair Rebecca Powell-Garfield has been named Principal Flute. Caroline Slack has been hired as Section First Violin while Aleksandra Holowka and Sarah Okura have been added to the Viola section. Hilary Scop has been named Clarinet II Chair and Brenda Zeserman has been seated as Second Trombone.

The 2005-2006 concert season of the Austin Symphony Orchestra opens on September 9th at Bass Concert Hall.
