AUSTIN SYMPHONY ANNOUNCES NEW ORCHESTRA MEMBERS

The Austin Symphony Orchestra is proud to announce new appointments in orchestra membership following auditions August 21-29, 2007.

Acting Principal Trumpet Robert Cannon has been named Principal Trumpet. Second Trombone Brenda Sansig has been named Principal Trombone. Bassoonist Daniel Chrisman has been seated as Third Bassoon/Contrabassoon. Joseph D. Smith and Rachel Frankenfeld have been added as Section Violins and Ames Asbell has been seated as Section Viola.

The 2007-2008 concert season of the Austin Symphony Orchestra opens on September 14th at Riverbend Centre with pianist Philippe Entremont.
