PETER BAY ON BOARD FOR ANOTHER TWO YEARS
The Austin Symphony Orchestra (ASO) announces that it has extended the contract of Music Director and Conductor Peter Bay for two more seasons. Bay has led the ASO since January of 1997. This new contract will take him through the 2006/2007 concert season, with an option of an additional two years available after 2007. The contract signing took place on July 21, 2005 with Board of Directors Chair Jane Sibley, President Joe R. Long and Executive Director Jim Reagan participating. Upon signing, Maestro Bay commented, “I am ecstatic and grateful to have this opportunity to collaborate with our wonderful orchestra and organization for two additional years. Austin has been such a wonderful place in which to work and live, so it makes me very happy to be able to stay here and make music to the best of my ability.”
